Who does the work? More Than Gold 2014 is a charity organised through a number of groups:
The Board of Directors give advice and accountability to the chairman and CEO and take legal responsibility for the More Than Gold 2014 charity. The Board of Directors represent the eight main Christian denominations and is led by chairman, Lorimer Gray.
The Executive Council is a working group that oversees the development of More Than Gold 2014 and sets direction and priorities for the work and ensures the funding is in place. Executive Council members are Shaw Anderson (Glasgow City Council), Cedric Blakey (Scottish Episcopal Church), Iain Campbell (Church of Scotland), Lorimer Gray (Chair), Fiona McDonald (Scottish Bible Society), Matt Oliver (CEO), Ruth Walker (Mission Scotland), Ian Wills (Church of the Nazarene), Phil Wray (Scripture Union Scotland) and Russell Wyles (Salvation Army).
The Programme Committee is responsible for overseeing the work of the programme teams by creating opportunities that will enable Christians and churches to serve their communities, the city of Glasgow and the larger Commonwealth Games family. It is chaired by Fiona McDonald.
The Communications and Engagement Committee oversees the marketing, website and public relations, helping ensure that churches are able to engage effectively with More Than Gold 2014. It is chaired by Ruth Walker.
The Prayer Team helps galvanise people to prayer for the work of More Than Gold 2014 and organises a number of prayer events and opportunities. It is chaired by Lynn Howson.
The Programme Teams develop and organise the visions of the Programme Committee that will enable Christians and churches to serve their communities, the city of Glasgow and the larger Commonwealth Games family.
